About me
Cuando tuve que escoger una carrera universitaria, elegí idiomas -y dentro de ellos Castellano y Chino mandarín- porque quería poder hablar con el mayor número posible de personas. Dejé mi querida Cerdeña y me mudé a la ciudad de Bolonia. Entonces no sabía cuál era el fin, pero me bastó con conocer un poco de mundo para descubrir que no solo había miles de situaciones de desigualdad y de injusticias, sino también miles de historias de resiliencia que pedían a gritos ser contadas. Así que, en 2006 llegué a Barcelona para formarme como periodista. Cursé el máster en periodismo que llevan a cabo la Universitat de Barcelona junto con la Columbia University, donde hoy enseño periodismo social, periodismo constructivo y de soluciones y ética con perspectiva de género, clase y etnia.
En 2014 gané el premio de Periodismo Joven contra la violencia de género que otorga el Instituto de la Juventud (Injuve) y fui finalista del European Press Prize. Soy autora del libro El cuerpo robado, violencia y rebelión en tierra de mafia, colección Reportajes 360 grados (reportajes de actualidad en formato libro) de Editorial UOC. Entre 2017 y 2020 trabajé como subdirectora editorial de la revista Storica del National Geographic. En 2020 junto con la periodista Monica Pelliccia desarrollé el proyecto “Llaves violetas -Purple Keys”, sobre la relación entre la pandemia de covid y las violencias machistas en Europa y las propuestas feministas a la crisis gracias al Stars4Media pilot project y a un grant del fondo Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU fund). En 2022, junto con IrpiMedia y News247.gr recibí una beca del Free Press Unlimited para una investigación sobre la trata de personas entre Nigeria y el Sur de Europa, y fui finalista del Fetisov Journalism Awards con una historia sobre discriminaciones de personas gitanas en la educación. Entre 2022 y 2023 coordiné la investigación periodística “Los banqueros de la migración irregular” (finalista del Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism 2023 y mención de honor del TRACE Prize for Investigative Reporting) gracias al apoyo del Journalism Fund y del IJ4EU fund.
Entre 2022 y 2024 he sido coordinadora para el sur de Europa del Proyecto Oasis sobre sostenibilidad de medios nativos digitales e independientes en más de 40 países europeos.
En 2024 junto con otras cinco periodistas, estuve investigando los impactos del cambio climático en la salud mental de las personas que trabajan en agricultura gracias al apoyo del Journalismfund Europe.
En estos momentos estoy investigando, junto con tres compañeras, las consecuencias para las poblaciones locales en Italia, Alemania y Rumanía de la disminución de las aguas subterráneas.
Apuesto por un periodismo de construcción y de soluciones, lento, narrativo y con perspectiva feminista. Escribo en Castellano, Català, Italiano e Inglés. Soy formadora en periodismo de soluciones acreditada por el Solutions Journalism Network y miembro del International Press Institute.

I am a Sardinian feminist freelance journalist with a Foreign Languages (Spanish -Castellano- and Mandarin Chinese) University Degree. I have been living for sixteen years in Barcelona, where I also teach Social Issues Journalism, journalistic Ethics from an intersectional perspective as well as Constructive and Solutions journalism at the BCN_NY Master Degree in Journalism. In 2014 I received the Spanish national Young journalism against gender-based violence award and I was selected for the 2014 European Press Prize shortlist with ‘Mafias from a Female Perspective’. I am the author of The stolen body, violence and rebellion in the land of mafia, colección Reportajes 360 grados. From 2017 to 2020 I was the deputy director of the National Geographic Storica magazine. In 2020, together with journalist Monica Pelliccia, and thanks to the Stars4Media pilot project and the Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU fund), I started “Purple Keys”, a multimedia project on gender-based violence and the covid pandemics and on the feminist responses to the crisis.
In 2022 together with IrpiMedia and News247.gr I have received a grant from Free Press Unlimited for an investigation on human trafficking between Nigeria and Southern Europe and I was shortlisted for the 2022 Fetisov Journalism Awards with a story about discriminations of Roma people in education. Between 2022 and 2023 I coordinated the cross-border investigation “The Bankers of irregular migration” (short-listed for the 2023 Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism and honorable mention at the TRACE Prize for Investigative Reporting) thanks to the support of the Journalismfund Europe as well as of the IJ4EU fund.
Between 2022 and 2024 I was the Southern Europe coordinator of the Oasis Project, a research study into the sustainability of digital native media organizations in Europe. In 2024, together with five female colleagues, I worked on a cross-border investigation about climate change and farmers’ mental health thanks to the support of the Journalismfund Europe. Between 2024 and 2025, together with three female colleagues and thanks to the support of Journalismfund Europe I investigated the consequences of groundwater depletion on local communities in Italy, Germany and Romania.
I practice a constructive and solutions focused, narrative, long-form and slow journalism from a feminist perspective, one that tells stories that deal with conflicts, inequalities, and injustice, but at the same time highlights resilience, responses and alternatives to these problems. I am an accredited trainer of the Solutions Journalism Network and a member of the International Press Institute.
